Senator Aliyu Ahmed Wadada of Nasarawa West has officially returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC). His return marks a major political development in the state and a sign of renewed trust in the ruling party.

At the Government House in Lafia on Monday, Governor Abdullahi Sule warmly received the senator, describing his comeback as an act of faith and maturity.

“He could have stayed in his old party and challenged us if he wanted to, but he decided to come home,” Governor Sule said.

The governor commended Senator Wadada’s political maturity, noting that his decision reflected unity and confidence in the APC leadership.

Governor Sule also praised the APC state officials for strengthening the party, revealing that its representation in the House of Assembly had risen from nine to fifteen members. He reaffirmed his belief that, in line with President Tinubu’s vision, the APC would remain Nigeria’s dominant political force.

Senator Wadada, in his remarks, said he returned to a party he helped build, calling his move a “homecoming.” He emphasized that his decision was guided by vision, not desperation, and credited Governor Sule’s inclusive and peaceful leadership for inspiring his return.

“I came back because of Governor Sule’s leadership style; calm, unifying, and focused on progress,” Wadada said.

APC Chairman Dr. Aliyu Bello rejected claims of weakness, insisting those who left to contest elsewhere remained loyal members. He urged members to stay united ahead of upcoming elections and pledged continued loyalty to the governor.

State officials, lawmakers, traditional rulers, women’s groups, and supporters gathered statewide to highlight the political importance of Wadada’s return.
