Super Falcons forward Rasheedat Ajibade officially joined Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on a two-year contract. The move followed her exit from Atlético de Madrid at the end of last season.
Ajibade, captain of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), expressed her excitement. “I’m deeply honoured to join Paris Saint-Germain, a top club in Europe,” she said after signing.
“This is a major step for me. I’m committed to helping PSG win titles and inspiring young footballers in Nigeria and beyond.”
The 24-year-old links up with compatriot Jennifer Echegini as Les Parisiennes strengthen their squad. PSG aims to reclaim the Ligue 1 Féminine crown, last won in 2021.
Rasheedat Ajibade excelled at the 2024 WAFCON, scoring once and providing two assists as Nigeria claimed a record tenth continental title. She also earned the Player of the Tournament award.
