A documentary about Wasiu Alabi, the Fuji singer better known by his stage name Pasuma, will soon be released. Through an X post, the Fuji singer revealed the documentary, The Man.
The post claimed that the project is an inspiring and instructive account of Pasuma’s life in addition to being an entertainment piece.
The fuji singer also revealed that the documentary will depict the “struggles, resilience, and triumphs” of the singer who is not in the spotlight.
“There is more to stardom than what meets the eye. Every star carries a story, and what the world often sees is only the final result,” the post says.
“This is not just entertainment. It is an educational and, above all, inspiring journey into the life of Pasuma Wonder.
THE MAN reveals the struggles, the resilience, and the triumphs behind the spotlight.”
The documentary’s release date and platform, however, are still unknown.
Pasuma was raised in Lagos State’s Mushin neighborhood. He was inspired by his role model, K1 De Ultimate, and started writing songs in 1984. His journey in Fuji music began in 1993 when he released his debut album, Recognition.
Since then, Pasuma has put out more than 30 albums and become one of the Fuji genre’s most successful artists. He has received numerous honors over the years, including the Best Fuji Artiste City People Entertainment Award.
After not being selected for Nigeria’s team at the 1985 FIFA/KODAK World Championship in China, Pasuma disclosed in February 2024 that he dedicated himself entirely to music.
In addition to performing music, he has acted in Nollywood productions like Iyanje and Alenibare. The singer further solidifies his influence outside of the entertainment sector by supporting healthcare and education initiatives through his Pasuma Wonder Foundation.
