A 44-year-old man, Wasiu Akinwande, popularly known as Olori Esho, has been remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre by an Ikeja Magistrate Court over multiple murder charges and other violent crimes.

Presiding Magistrate Mobolaji Tanimola ordered that Olori Esho be held for an initial 30-day period, pending legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).

Olori Esho faces an 11-count charge filed by the Nigeria Police Force, including conspiracy, murder, attempted murder, illegal possession of firearms, cultism, threat to life, and grievous bodily harm.

According to the police prosecutor, Nosa Uhumwangho, the alleged crimes were committed over several years between December 9, 2010, and April 5, 2025, at various locations in Mushin, Idi-Araba, Surulere, and Fadeyi, Lagos State.

Olori Esho, allegedly armed with an AK-47 rifle, is accused of shooting and killing Yusuf Bolakale (30) and Yusuf Ramadan (23) at No. 11 Mosalashi Street, Mushin.

On December 9, 2010, he allegedly shot dead a 10-year-old girl, Aminat Lateef, at Tiamiyu Street, Fadeyi, while she was on an errand.

The charges also link him to the July 31, 2024, killings of six individuals; including persons identified as Anyila, Ojajo, and four others during a violent cult clash in Idi-Araba.

He was said to have fled to the Alagbado area before his eventual arrest.
