At London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday, Oleksandr Usyk defeated Daniel Dubois via fifth-round knockout to establish himself as the undisputed heavyweight world champion.
The WBA, WBC, and WBO champion Usyk added his British opponent’s IBF title to his collection, and victory saw him extend his undefeated professional record to 24 bouts.
The fight ended emphatically one minute and fifty-two seconds into the fifth round when Oleksandr, who is 38 years old and about 11 years older than Dubois, dropped his opponent to the canvas with his signature left hook, leaving his British opponent unable to beat the count.
Usyk fell to his knees in celebration and exclaimed, “38 is a young guy, remember!,” in the ring.
