Ola, a Lagos-based media personality and auto trader, has denied reports that he owned the Skywise Group property recently demolished by the Lagos State Government.
In a video statement, Ola clarified that he never claimed ownership of the property, contrary to widespread social media rumors. He explained that he only rented a section of the property to operate his auto business.
“I want to clear the air about the demolition of my car lot. I never owned the Skywise Group property; I only rented a portion to run my business. The Lagos State Government acted because some safety measures were not followed, not because of any personal issue with me,” Ola said.
Ola further explained that the state government demolished the site after finding safety and structural violations, not to target him.
However, several social commentators, including activist Deji Adeyanju, criticized Ola’s response, accusing him of misrepresenting himself as the property owner before the demolition.
As the issue gained traction online, Ola urged Nigerians to verify information before sharing unconfirmed claims on social media.
He reaffirmed his business’s commitment to legal compliance, emphasizing that the demolition was a routine regulatory enforcement rather than a personal attack.
