The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced new Nigerian Standard Passport fees. The new rates take effect on September 1, 2025.
The 32-page passport with a five-year validity will now cost ₦100,000. The 64-page passport with a 10-year validity will cost ₦200,000.
NIS spokesperson ACI A. S. Akinlabi confirmed the new Nigerian Standard Passport fees in a Thursday statement.
The statement read, “In a bid to uphold the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Passport, the Nigeria Immigration Service announces an upward review of Nigerian Standard Passport fees, effective September 1, 2025″
The Service explained that the change applies only to passport applications processed in Nigeria. It said the adjustment was necessary to maintain the quality and integrity of the Nigerian passport.
Applicants abroad will continue paying the current rates. “Meanwhile, Nigerian Passport Application fees made by Nigerians in diaspora remain unchanged at $150 for 32-page with 5-year validity and $230 for 64-page with 10-year validity, “It said.
The NIS emphasized that the Nigerian Standard Passport dues update balances service quality with accessibility. It assured Nigerians that passports remain secure, valid, and affordable compared to global standards.
