President Bola Tinubu will address Nigerians in a nationwide broadcast today, October 1, 2025, to commemorate Nigeria’s 65th independence anniversary.
The speech will air at 7 a.m. on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) network services.
Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, urged all radio and television stations to join the broadcast. “We call on all media outlets to relay the President’s nationwide message,” Onanuga said in his statement released Tuesday.
The broadcast will highlight the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and reflect on Nigeria’s democratic journey since 1960. Nigeria gained independence from British colonial rule on October 1, 1960, and this year marks 65 years of freedom.
As the nation celebrates Nigeria at 65, the President is expected to outline new priorities while reaffirming commitment to unity, progress, and development.
