New Defense Chiefs Visit Minister Badaru

Nigeria’s newly appointed Chief of Defense Staff and Service Chiefs have paid their first official visit to Defense Minister Badaru Abubakar. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Defense Headquarters in Abuja.

Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Defense Staff, led the delegation. He was joined by Maj Gen Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral Idi Abbas, Chief of Naval Staff; and Air Vice Marshal SK Aneke, Chief of Air Staff.

The visit marked a significant step toward building a unified defense leadership. According to a statement from the Minister’s office, the meeting emphasized cooperation, trust, and a shared vision for national security.

The statement noted that the visit “demonstrates the Minister’s dedication to creating a unified defense leadership based on cooperation, trust, and a common goal.”

Under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, the visit also signals a renewed commitment to a cohesive defense strategy.

“This visit serves as the catalyst for a renewed push for a cohesive strategy and swift action to protect Nigeria’s territorial integrity and national interests,” the statement added.
