NECO Releases BECE Results, Re-sit Scheduled for July

The 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results have been made public by the National Examinations Council (NECO). In a statement released on Wednesday, NECO’s Acting Director, Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, verified that 179,201 applicants had signed up for the test in 12 different disciplines.

Sani claims that the test, which started on May 12, 2025, was successfully finished on May 23, 2025.

“The Results of the examination was released following the successful conclusion of the 2025 BECE Award Committee Meeting held at the Council’s Headquarters in Minna”

“Dr. (Mrs.) Folake Olatunji David, Director, Basic Education, Federal Ministry of Education, who chairs the Award Committee, expressed satisfaction with the procedures that resulted in the findings’ effective dissemination during the meeting. “The Award Committee Meeting was also attended by some Secondary School Principals from across the country as well as NECO management,” he stated.

The timing and schedule for the 2025 BECE Re-sit have been approved by the Award Committee. The notification states that the retake exam for English studies and mathematics is set for July 23 and 24, 2025.
