Amid growing concerns about his health, Wale Edun, Nigeria’s Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, appeared in public at the 1-54 London Art Fair.

A short video posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday showed Edun touring the O’DA Art Gallery booth with two other people.

Sunday Dare, Special Adviser for Media and Public Communication to President Bola Tinubu, shared the clip online. His caption read simply: “Minister Wale Edun. Today. Gallery of Art.”

The public appearance came only hours after rumors spread that Edun had traveled to the UK for medical treatment.

Earlier reports suggested that he received treatment in Nigeria before doctors moved him abroad for additional care.

It was also claimed that the minister’s health condition would prevent him from attending the World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings in Washington, D.C.

Olayemi Cardoso, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), is leading Nigeria’s delegation to the meetings, which began on Tuesday, October 14.
