Nigerian comedian Julius Agwu is mourning the loss of his mother. On his X page, he shared a touching video from a visit to her farm. In the clip, he surprises his mother, affectionately called Mama Gee, as she peels cassava stems. Her face lights up with joy, reflecting their close bond.
“My dearest mother has gone to be with the Lord 😭😭😭 Mama Gee, you will be dearly missed. Rest in peace,” Agwu wrote.
He expressed deep sorrow, saying he will “dearly miss” her and wishing her peaceful rest, though he did not reveal the date of her passing.
Born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Julius Agwu began his career on stage. He has appeared in films and TV shows including After Count (2011), A Long Night (2014), and Torn (2013). He is also renowned for his classic comedy Mama Junior.
In April 2022, concerns about Agwu’s health made headlines, alongside rumors of a marital split. Agwu confirmed both, acknowledging his health issues and that he and his wife had separated.
