Rute Cardoso, the late Portuguese footballer Diogo Jota’s widow, has shared a heart-wrenching tribute on Instagram to mark one month since their wedding day.
Posting a series of emotional wedding photos on Tuesday, Cardoso captioned the images: “1 month of our ‘until death do us part’. Forever, your white girl.”
The emotional message comes just three weeks after Jota and his younger brother, André Silva, tragically lost their lives in a car crash in Spain on July 3; only 11 days after Jota tied the knot.
The fatal accident occurred on a highway near Seville, where Jota’s vehicle reportedly lost control and veered off the road. Both brothers were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
Jota, 28, was a forward for Liverpool and the Portuguese national team. Known for his relentless energy and versatility, he was a fan favorite and widely respected across the football world.
