In the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), Okeke Chinedu Christian of Anambra State received the best score of 375 out of 400, according to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
This information was revealed by JAMB Registrar Prof. Ish-aq Oloyede on Tuesday at the 2025 Policy Meeting in Abuja.
According to him, the top scorer decided to pursue mechanical engineering at the University of Lagos, which was his first option.
Ayuba Simon-Peter John of Gombe State, who scored 374 and made Afe Babalola University (ABUAD) his top option to study mechanical engineering, was not far behind him. Jimoh Abdulmalik Olayinka of Kwara State, who scored 373, came in third. He also decided to apply for Mechanical Engineering at the University of Lagos.
Notably, all three top-performing UTME students are male.
