According to a directive from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), all public universities must complete their 2025 admissions procedures by October 31, 2025.
Private universities must finalize admissions by November 30, 2025, while all tertiary schools, whether public or private, must finish the process by December 31, 2025, per the board’s plan.
In accordance with the choices made at the 2025 Policy Meeting, which was presided over by the Minister of Education, the instruction was published in JAMB’s weekly bulletin on Monday.
The goal of the action, according to JAMB, is to stabilize the academic calendar and guarantee fair access to admissions opportunities for all universities across the country.
The examination board said, “All tertiary institutions have been instructed to conclude their admissions within the approved timelines.
“Even if an institution is not ready to commence a new academic session, it must conduct its admission and archive it”
Additionally, JAMB instructed post-UTME screening schools to finish them as soon as possible, emphasizing that all admissions procedures must strictly follow the timeframes.
