Manchester City defeat Liverpool 3-0 to mark Pep Guardiola’s 1000th game as a manager and close the Premier League gap on Arsenal to four points.

Erling Haaland missed a penalty but quickly recovered to score his 99th league goal. Nico Gonzalez doubled the lead with a deflected strike, and Jeremy Doku sealed the win with a stunning solo goal.

Liverpool, seventh in the table and eight points off the top, struggled against City’s relentless attack. Despite recent victories over Real Madrid and Aston Villa, they could not handle City’s pace and precision at the Etihad Stadium.

Haaland and Doku consistently tormented Liverpool’s defense as City dominated possession. Gonzalez and Doku secured the win after VAR disallowed Liverpool’s equalizer.

Meanwhile, Alexander Isak, valued at £125 million, remained on the bench. Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo missed key chances that could have changed the game’s direction.
