Alejandro Garnacho, a winger for Manchester United, has allegedly instructed the team to sell him to Chelsea, a rival in the Premier League. The Argentine forward, one of five players selected for United’s infamous “bomb squad,” is currently looking to leave Old Trafford permanently.
The conflict between Garnacho and United started in May when he complained about starting from the bench in the Europa League final and manager Ruben Amorim told him to find a new team.
The 20-year-old was valued by United at £70 million at first, but that asking price has since been reduced to £50 million.
Garnacho has threatened the Red Devils to let him join Chelsea or risk having him sit on the bench for the next six to twelve months, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Garnacho has made 144 appearances since making his first team debut, tallying 26 goals and 22 assists.
In the meantime, Europe is witnessing another high-profile transfer drama.
Paris Saint-Germain and Gianluigi Donnarumma’s relationship is said to have reached a breaking point. In an apparent attempt to speed up his departure, Romano disclosed that the Ligue 1 winners have left the Italian goalkeeper out of their squad for Wednesday’s UEFA Super Cup matchup against Tottenham Hotspur.
With only one year remaining on his contract, Donnarumma is drawing interest from a number of Premier League teams. He is reportedly open to joining Manchester United, which could be a big move if the Red Devils decide to restructure their roster this summer.
The recent acquisition of Lucas Chevalier by PSG to add competition in goal has increased conjecture regarding the 25-year-old’s future.
