Abdullahi Ganduje, a former National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), was recently inaugurated as Chairman of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Board.

Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation’s Special Advisor on Digital Media, Gbenga Saka, shared a video of the inauguration on his X account.  He was appointed as the FAAN Board Chair by President Tinubu in January.

Weeks after Ganduje resigned as the APC’s National Chairman, the event took place in Abuja on Wednesday.  The APC claims that Ganduje’s resignation was due to personal reasons.

APC spokesperson Felix Morka stated in a statement that “His resignation, which is effective immediately, was offered to enable him to attend to urgent and important personal matters.”

In his letter of resignation addressed to the National Working Committee (NWC) through the National Secretary, Ajibola Basiru, Ganduje expressed gratitude to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Tinubu, for the opportunity to serve the party at the highest level.

Ali Dalori was named the APC’s interim head by the ruling party, pending the urgent calling of a meeting of its National Executive Committee (NEC) to fill the void left by the resignation.

In August 2023, Ganduje, who served as Kano State’s governor from 2015 to 2023, assumed the role of APC chairman.
