The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) distributed N2.103 trillion among the federal, state, and local governments in September 2025.
The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF) disclosed this in a statement on Friday after the October 2025 FAAC meeting in Abuja. Bawa Mokwa, the OAGF spokesperson, signed the statement.
This amount represents a slight decline compared to N2.2 trillion shared in August 2025. The total distributable revenue included N1.239 trillion in statutory revenue, N812.593 billion in Value Added Tax (VAT), and N51.684 billion from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL).
FAAC reported that N3.054 trillion in gross income was available in September 2025. Out of this, N835.005 billion went to transfers, interventions, and savings, while N116.149 billion covered collection costs.
The committee noted that gross statutory revenue stood at N2.128 trillion, down by N710.134 billion from August’s N2.838 trillion. Meanwhile, VAT collections increased to N872.630 billion, up by N150.011 billion from August’s N722.619 billion.
According to the statement, the Federal Government received N711.314 billion, the States N727.170 billion, and the Local Governments N529.954 billion from the total N2.103 trillion distributable revenue. Beneficiary states also earned N134.956 billion (13% of mineral revenue) as derivation funds.
From the N1.239 trillion statutory revenue, the Federal Government received N581.672 billion, the States N295.032 billion, and the Local Governments N227.457 billion.
For VAT revenue, the Federal Government got N121.889 billion, the States N406.297 billion, and the Local Governments N284.408 billion from the total N812.593 billion.
The Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) generated N51.684 billion; distributed as N25.842 billion to States, N18.089 billion to Local Governments, and N7.753 billion retained by the Federal Government.
FAAC added that Companies Income Tax (CIT) and CET Levies recorded major drops in September, while Import Duty, VAT, and EMTL increased significantly. Oil and Gas Royalty and Excise Duty slightly declined, while Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) posted a minor increase.
