The Chuba Okadigbo International Airport will resume full operations in August 2025, according to the Ebonyi State Government, which also stated that the installation and electrical connection of airfield lighting is moving quickly.
This was announced in a signed statement that was distributed to reporters in Abakaliki on Saturday by Mrs. Ngozi Obichukwu, the Commissioner for Aviation and Transport Technology. She emphasized that in order to finish the connection in two weeks, the airfield lighting installation and connection specialist and other project engineers are working nonstop.
However, the commissioner encouraged passengers to buy their tickets and fly through the Chuba Okadigbo Airport, Onueke, Ezza South LGA, especially those from Ogeb, Obubra, Itigidi, Boki, Okigwe, and the surrounding areas, as well as other parts of Abia, Abuja, and Lagos State.
“The expert in airfield lighting system installation and other engineers handling this project are on the fast lane, trying to maximise two weeks to conclude the installation and hooking up of the airfield lighting system to electricity powerhouse,” The statement partly read.
“As a result of the above, we shall resume our usual flight lifting on 19th August, 2025. We urge our esteemed customers to purchase their tickets and fly through the United Nigeria Airline to Chuba Okadigbo International Airport, Onueke, Ezza South LGA.
“The United Nigeria Airline flies Abuja to Abakaliki and Abakaliki to Abuja, likewise from Lagos to Abakaliki and Abakaliki to Lagos,” she concluded
