Nigerian singer and songwriter Chike says he has no intention of getting married, calling it “a stupid step.” The singer stated that he does not consider marriage to be a top priority in his life in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo.

“In my personal opinion, in fact, I think it’s a stupid step to get married, that’s my opinion,” he stated. Chike, who is well-known for his romantic songs, also disclosed that having money is a prerequisite for happiness.

“For me to be happy, to be honest, I need a lot of money. This is not even canal, I won’t lie to you, I like money,” He went on, “I want money.”

Chike also discussed his career path, stating that he never imagined pursuing music as a career until after graduating from college.

“I would say right after my university, I knew music is what I’ll do for a living. I won’t say I knew before, to be honest, because I just used to sing and disturb everybody around me,” he said.

The Boo of the Booless singer acknowledged in 2022 that he has never expressed love for anyone. He went on to say that the word makes him feel “vulnerable.”

He continued, “I get that feeling that if I say it, my b**s would shrink and disappear. Happy I get to sing it though,”
