Chelsea blocks Nicolas Jackson loan to Bayern Munich after Liam Delap’s injury, creating tension between the striker and the club.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reported on Saturday that the deal was nearly complete. Bayern had reached an agreement, and Jackson was even in Munich for medicals.
Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl confirmed the sudden change.
“Chelsea has informed us they want the player back after we reached an agreement and permission for the medical. Now the boy is in Munich, and we must send him back. I cannot predict the future,” Eberl told Sky Sport Deutschland.
Jackson, however, wants to remain in Germany. Reports from Senegalese outlet Taggat suggest the striker’s camp, led by agent Ali Barat, is resisting Chelsea’s recall. Jackson is still in Munich, with no return flight scheduled.
Negotiations are ongoing to save the deal and repair ties between Jackson and Chelsea. Barat and Bayern Munich are pushing to revive the transfer.
For Bayern, missing out would be a major setback. The Bundesliga champions viewed Nicolas Jackson as a versatile option to support Harry Kane and cover the left wing.
Chelsea, meanwhile, face a striker shortage after Delap’s injury. With Joao Pedro the only fit option, the Blues may keep Jackson in London.
