The Budget Office of the Federation announced it will release the Nigeria Budget Performance Report for FY 2024 and Q1-Q2 2025 by September 2025.
This release will restore statutory compliance and ensure timely publication of fiscal reports. The office said the move shows its commitment to transparency, accountability, and restoring predictability in Nigeria’s budget cycle.
The statement said the delay stemmed from efforts to improve fiscal reporting accuracy and firmly establish a January-December budget cycle.
It added that reliable data would strengthen Nigeria’s credibility with citizens, markets, and international partners.
“A provisional Nigeria Budget Performance Report for FY 2024 will be released by the end of September 2025,” the office noted. “This interim report, based on verified funding commitments, provides a reliable snapshot of fiscal performance while project-level verification continues.”
The Budget Office confirmed it will publish all budget implementation reports on schedule from Q3 2025, in line with the Fiscal Responsibility Act (FRA). For Q1 and Q2 2025, the office will release consolidated reports alongside the FY 2024 update.
The statement said the institution delayed Nigeria’s report to ensure accuracy and credibility, not due to backsliding.
It announced better fiscal monitoring, digital expenditure integration, and stronger MDA collaboration to enhance reporting integrity.
“Our commitment to transparency, timeliness, and accountability remains unwavering,” the agency assured.
