The Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has trained Education Management Information System officers from 20 local government areas.

The workshop, held on Saturday at the SUBEB Conference Hall, focused on improving digital data management skills.

Officials said the training followed the Universal Basic Education Commission’s directive to modernize data handling in basic education.

Speaking at the event, the Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics, Ilyasu Buba, described the initiative as timely.

He said the Basic Education Management Information System was created by UBEC to enhance education data management nationwide.

Represented by SUBEB’s EMIS Officer, Hamisu Ibrahim, Buba explained that the platform serves as a central data hub.

It collects, organizes, and reports education data from early childhood to junior secondary school levels across Nigeria.

“The workshop aims to improve officers’ digital capacity and ensure efficient education data management,” Buba stated.

He urged participants to pay full attention and share the knowledge with their teams after the training.

Furthermore, he encouraged them to maintain professionalism, adding that accurate data remains vital to quality education.

During their joint remarks, Ibrahim Mijinyawa from Toro and Hauwa Gadzama from Warji commended SUBEB and UBEC for their effort.

They promised to transfer the knowledge gained to colleagues at the local government level for better results.

Meanwhile, participants received laptop computers and data collection forms to enhance their work after the training.

The event marked another step in Bauchi’s effort to digitalize education management and improve school decision-making.
