Viktor Gyökeres, a Swedish striker, is expected to sign with Arsenal from Sporting Lisbon after all parties have reached a verbal agreement. Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano said, “Viktor Gyökeres to Arsenal, here we go!” on Tuesday, confirming the agreement.
All parties have a verbal agreement in place and Sporting has accepted Arsenal’s last offer of €63.5 million plus an extra €10 million in add-ons, according to Romano.
According to reports, the striker’s agent also consented to lower his commission in order to make the transfer easier. Gyökeres will sign a five-year contract with the North London team.
The 27-year-old forward was adamant about moving to the Emirates after having a successful season in Portugal. “He only wanted Arsenal,” Romano continued.
The transfer represents yet another significant step in Arsenal’s summer hiring campaign, with personal terms agreed upon and negotiations completed.
