The Adamawa State House of Assembly seat representing Ganye has been reclaimed by the All Progressives Congress, or APC. Last year, the APC lost the seat due to the death of one of its members, Abdulmalik Musa.
In the bye-election for the Ganye state constituency on Saturday, August 16, 2025, Misa Musa Jauro, the APC candidate, received 16,923 votes overall, defeating Buba Muhammad Joda, the PDP candidate, who received 16,794 votes.
Pre-election predictions that the APC and the PDP would face off closely were validated by the final results.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), announced the results and declared the winner.
Just before five in the morning on Sunday, Professor Tukur Ahmed, the Returning Officer for the bye-election, concluded the election process by announcing the results.
