The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) announced the AFRIMA 2025 nominees on Wednesday, spotlighting Africa’s top music stars.

Nigeria’s Burna Boy and Davido secured five nominations each. The judges shortlisted their albums No Sign of Weakness and 5ive for Album of the Year. Their hit singles also earned spots in Song of the Year and Best Collaboration.

South Africa’s DJ Maphorisa and Morocco’s El Grande Toto matched them with five nominations. Maphorisa is up for Best African DJ and Album of the Year, while Toto’s Salgoat and Diplomatico gained global attention.

Organisers said public voting will run from September 10 to November 30, 2025, through the official AFRIMA website. Organisers will announce the winners at the main event.

AFRIMA jury member Delani Makhalima said the list shows how far African music has advanced globally. “African music is now heard everywhere. AFRIMA remains the continent’s biggest music platform,” he said.

The Federal Government and Lagos State will host AFRIMA 2025 in Lagos, Nigeria.
