According to new data from the Ministry of Interior’s four paramilitary agencies’ recent nationwide recruitment exercise, over 1.9 million Nigerians applied for 30,000 available positions, an astounding volume of applications.

With the most applications, Kogi State far outperformed the other states in the total count. With 116,188 applicants, Kogi State topped the list, closely followed by Benue (110,583) and Kaduna (114,551).

A sizeable portion of all applications filed nationwide are from these three states combined.

The information reveals a stark variation in state-by-state application rates. Some southern states had significantly lower participation rates than the North Central and North West regions.

Ebonyi registered 12,038 applicants, Lagos 14,216, and Bayelsa had the fewest, 11,669.

For openings in four important agencies; the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Fire Service (FFS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS); the Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) received 1,911,377 applications in total.

The authorities have promised to get in touch with the successful applicants as soon as possible.

For information on the next steps, candidates are advised to keep an eye on their official recruitment portal, emails, and SMS.
